ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: On the circular periphery of a winding shaft, flat recesses are formed at fixed intervals both in the axial and circumferential directions, with small rollers mounted one each on the flat recesses rollably on and inseparably from the flat recesses. A spool for winding a strip of sheet material thereon is slid over the circular periphery of the winding shaft sidewise from one end of the winding shaft. A slight rotation of the spool relative to the winding shaft causes the aforementioned rollers to be moved and wedged into the gap between the spool and the winding shaft, with the result that the spool and the winding shaft are locked to each other. - 54 -
