ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An insulated window structure comprising a plurality of panels formed of insulating material, the sum of the areas of the panels being approximately equal to that of a window opening. An extruded element is applied to the upper and lower edges of each panel, each element having a sealing surface which mates with a sealing surface on a similar extruded element applied to the immediately-adjacent panel. A pair of side frame members is provided having vertically extending guiding elements for guiding the panels between an upper storage position and a lower operative position. Improved adjusting means for the installation of the window structure and for compensation for wear is provided including first adjusting means for moving the side frame members toward and away from each other and second adjusting means to maintain the desired degree of sliding friction for the outermost panel.
