ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The compound profiles or struts from which the frame of a window or of a door are constructed consist of a plastic profile rail 3, 4 and a metal profile rail 6,7. The metal profile rails 6,7 face the inside of -the space, whereas the plastic profile rails form the outer casing. The plastic profile rail 3,4 is provided with anchor webs 5 that engage along their free long edges in grooves in the metal profile rail 6,7. The anchor webs are locked in the grooves by forming the outer channel webs 9 and/or the inner channel webs 10 onto the anchor webs 5. The connector hard- ware between the casement and the blind window frame and the attachment hardware for the blind window frame is secured exclusive- ly to the metal profile rails 6,7. An antechamber is formed between the plastic rail sections of the frame and casement and a strip of sealing material delimits this antechamber towards the inside, this strip having an attachment foot carried on an anchor- ing web of one plastic rail section and defining a sealing plane, the metal rail sections being disposed behind the sealing plane as seen from the outside.
