A window sash assembly includes a window sash (26) having an upper rail (28) and at least one side rail (30 or 32) that form a corner of the window sash. A slot (46) at the window sash corner opens laterally outwardly from the corner and is defined in part by opposed linear tracks (48, 50) on the upper rail. A tilt latch (34, or 36 or 36a) is disposed in the slot, and includes a housing (40 or 40a) having opposed sidewalls (52, 54) and outwardly extending ledges (58, 60) overlying the sidewalls slidably received over the tracks on the upper rail. A flexible resilient spring (64 or 64a) on each sidewall is spaced from the associated ledge such that the tracks on the rails are slidably received between the ledges and the springs. The springs preferably comprise at least one arcuate spring, most preferably a plurality of arcuate springs, on each sidewall of the housing with convex portions (66) opposed to the ledges. The housing preferably is of molded plastic construction, and the arcuate springs preferably are integrally molded with the housing.

Une fente (46) au niveau du coin du châssis s~ouvre latéralement vers l~extérieur depuis le coin et est définie en partie par des voies linéaires opposées (48, 50) sur le rail supérieur. Un loquet de basculement (34, ou 36 ou 36a) est disposé dans la fente, et comprend un logement (40 ou 40a) avec des parois latérales opposées (52, 54) et des épaulements orientés vers l~extérieur (58, 60) surmontant les parois latérales qui coulissent sur les voies du rail supérieur. Un ressort élastique souple (64 ou 64a) sur chaque paroi latérale est espacé de l~épaulement associé de sorte que les voies sur les rails coulissent entre les épaulements et les ressorts. Les ressorts comprennent de préférence au moins un ressort courbe, idéalement une pluralité de ressorts courbes, sur chaque paroi latérale du logement avec des parties convexes (66) opposées aux épaulements. De préférence, le logement est fabriqué en plastique moulé et les ressorts courbes sont intégralement moulés avec le logement.
