ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Screened windows have a movable closure panel and a mesh screen fixed in the aperture, e.g. to allow ventilation but exclude insects; a securable stay controls the degree of opening of the panel through the screen. The invention provides a device for securing the stay controlling the movable panel, the parts of the device being so shaped that they fit closely around the stay when it is locked in place, so as to minimise clearance between the stay and screen. The invention may also be applied to door and shutters and the like.
