ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A windshield wiper blade is provided which has a wiping clement and backing strip precurved in a direction generally parallel to the curvature of the surface of a windshield. The superstructure of the blade has four pairs of claws for applying pressure to the backing strip at four equally spaced apart points with the two extreme points being located one-eighth of the length of the blade in from each end of the blade. The precurving and the location of the pressure points provides better wiping quality, less wind lift and less wiper element permanent set.
