A windsock support structure includes a vertical support having an upper end and a lower end. A track extends for substantially the entire length of the vertical support. A travel member is captured within the track and is moved by cables axially along the track from an upper windsock display position to a lower windsock change out position. A cantilever support extends outwardly from the travel member away from the vertical support. A pole extension extends vertically from the cantilever support. The pole extension has an upper remote end with a windsock mounting adapted to receive a windsock. In the windsock display position, the upper remote end extends above the upper end of the vertical support, thereby allowing unfettered 360 degree movement of the windsock. The travel member is normally maintained in the windsock display position. When the windsock needs replacing, the travel member is lowered to the windsock change out position.
