In a magnetic disk drive, heads (18, 19) are loaded and unloaded onto the magnetic disk (14) by wings (43, 44) attached in close proximity to the magnetic heads. The wings are cylindrical rods which ride on opposed ramps (41, 42) to separate the heads so they can travel on either side of the disk and the heads are then brought together properly onto the disk. The wings are attached to the suspension arms (45, 46) of a Winchester head assembly by an attachment device (50, 51) having a tapered notch with an interference fit which secures the rods.
Unité de disque magnétique dans laquelle les têtes (18, 19) sont mises au contact du disque magnétique (14), ou écartées de celui-ci, par des tiges de guidage (43, 44) montées à proximité immédiate des têtes magnétiques. Ces tiges sont cylindriques et elles se déplacent sur des rampes opposées (41, 42) de telle manière qu'elles écartent les têtes et que ces derniières puissent se déplacer sur des côtés respectifs du disque avant de venir correctement au contact de celui-ci. Les tiges de guidage sont fixées aux bras de suspension (45, 46) d'un ensemble à têtes du type Winchester, par l'intermédiaire d'un dispositif de fixation (50, 51) présentant une rainure évasée, et ce avec un ajustement serré qui assure la solidarisation des tiges.
