ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention is a winter headwear comprising a deep thermally insulated hood and a multiglazed visior enclosing the whole head of the wearer, inclusive of the face, the bottom edges of the headwear forming an opening larger than the head. The headwear protects the face particularly the respiratory tract of the wearer from the exposure to a very cold weather by increasing the temperature of the inspired air by up to 35°C depending on the circumstances without using any external heating devices. The inspired air is warmed by mixing the expired air with air contained in the headwear, by decreasing the thermal conductance of the visior having panes interposed by air gaps, by using the heat dissipated by the head and by admitting some air warmed by the body. The multiglazed visior eliminates fogging of its inner surface in most circumstances. The lungs of the wearer act as a pump by supplying fresh air from outside into the headwear in the amount determined by the rate of energy expenditure of the wearer and by expelling excess of carbon dioxide and moisture. The invention eliminates the disadvantages of other masks and heavy helmets touching the face, obscuring the face, requiring seals, heaters, fans, conduits and valves.
