A wire conveyor belt (10) includes a plurality of spaced, tractive rods (18) disposed in succession and transversely with respect to a direction of travel (T) of the belt, each rod having two ends. A plurality of rows of wickets (16) are transversely disposed with respect to the direction of travel, and interconnect the succession of rods, each row of wickets including a plurality of links (30), each link connecting a rod with a following rod in the succession. At least one sprocket (20) engages the rod at a sprocket- engagement location on the belt inward of the outside edge (12). Tension in the belt is transferred so as to alleviate wicket fatigue failure. The tension is transferred by either: a) a split (36) between adjacent links in each row of wickets, the split in each row being located between links of each row immediately adjacent the sprocket-engagement location on the belt; b) a tension-transferring combination of sprockets made up of a pair of sprockets including the sprocket described above, engaging the rods at immediately adjacent sprocket-engagement locations; c) at least one tension-transferring generally U-shaped tension link (38) adjacent each row of wickets and connecting one rod in the succession with a following rod in the succession.
Un convoyeur à bande métallique (10) est constituée d'une succession de tringles de traction (18) espacées, perpendiculaires par rapport au sens de déplacement de du convoyeur, chaque tringle étant définie par deux extrémités. Des rangées d'arceaux (16) disposées selon le sens transversal du sens de déplacement relient les tringles entre elles grâce à une pluralité de liaisons (30) pour chaque rangée d'arceaux, chaque liaison reliant une tringle à la tringle suivante de la succession. Un pignon d'entraînement (20) agit sur la tringle au niveau d'un point de contact tringle-pignon disposé intérieurement par rapport au bord extérieur (12) de la bande. La tension s'exerçant sur la bande subit un transfert de façon à éviter aux arceaux une rupture par fatigue. Le transfert de tension s'obtient: a) soit au moyen d'un découplage (36) entre liaisons adjacentes dans chaque rangée d'arceaux, le découplage entre chacune des rangées étant réalisé entre les liaisons, au voisinage immédiat du point de contact tringle-pignon de la bande; b) soit au moyen d'une combinaison de pignons d'entraînement à transfert de tension, c'est-à-dire une paire de pignons d'entraînement tels que précédemment décrits, agissant sur les tringles de traction au niveau de points de contact tringle-pignon situés au voisinage immédiat l'un de l'autre; c) soit enfin au moyen d'un ressort de tension en U (38) disposé au voisinage de chaque rangée d'arceaux et reliant une tringle de la bande à la tringle suivante de la bande.
