Wire cutters comprise a housing having a slot adapted for entry of a wire to be cut and opposed openings adapted for positioning of levers. Jaws are positioned within the housing and movable between an open position and a closed position, in the closed position the jaws being positioned to cut a wire positioned in the slot in the housing when moved from the open to the closed position. Levers are adapted for use in moving the jaws between the open position and the closed position, the levers being accessible via the openings in the housing.
