ABSTRACT A wire cutting, skinning and wrapping tool is able to perform two successive skinning and wrapping operations in order to interconnect two ter- minals with an insulated wire, the wire being skinned over a predetermined length by means of a bit which is provided with a longitudinal groove and which is able to slide in a forward and backward direction in a hollow sleeve, the bit moving from a backward position to a forward position during the skin- ning operation, the skinned wire portion being situated in the longitudinal groove during the two skinning operations. The sleeve is provided with a nor- mally closed longitudinal slit, the insulated wire opening the sleeve longi- tudinally and passing through the slit during the skinning operations and that the sleeve closes again when the bit is in its forward position after each skinning operation, the predetermined skinned wire length being captured in the groove between the bit and closed sleeve. In this way, the sleeve can be kept stationary since during each wrapping operation it is closed, the insula- ted wire being located outside the sleeve during the wrapping operations.
