A B S T R A C T A strip of wire-links, in particular for a papermaking machine, is comprised of wires, namely a plurality of adjacent and mutually engaging wire coils, and possibly also of cross wires coupling the wire coils and/or of filler wires seated in the cavities formed by the wire coils. At least a part of the wires consist of a core and of a cladding, and the core consists of at least two adjacent and mutually parallel core threads separated by the cladding.
