ABSTRACT A meat support and cooking device holds a roast above the surface of a cooking pan and isolates the meat from greases and meat juices formed during cooking. The meat support includes a wire base having an upwardly extending wire prong. The wire base has a lower part contacting the cooking vessel and an upper part that supports the meat. The prong is permanently attached to the wire base and projects substantially perpendicularly to the horizontal plane of any point on the upper part of the wire base.
