FN 913,730 Abstract of the Disclosure A wire retainer is provided to pre-connector- ize and position individual wires from a communications cable over a base member of a modular spice connector to facilitate the formation of a modular solderless spice. The wire retainer has a body with projections along its edges to define wire channels and a flat control portion to receive the connector base member and a cap which mates with the body over the channels along one edge of the body to retain wires in the channels.
