A startup process of an access point (AP) includes a discovery phase and an announcement phase. During the discovery phase, the AP detects neighboring APs from its own extended service set (ESS), neighboring APs from different ESSs, and external sources of interference. During the announcement phase, the AP transmits its beacon signals at maximum power in order to accelerate recognition by neighboring APs running the discovery phase. An automatic initialization channel selection process of an AP scans channels the AP will use to communicate. Information of each scanned channel is recorded and a best performance channel is determined for use by the AP.
L'invention concerne un procédé de démarrage d'un point d'accès (AP) comprenant une phase de découverte et une phase d'annonce. Lors de la phase de découverte, le AP détecte des AP avoisinants appartenant à son propre ensemble de services étendu (ESS), des AP avoisinants provenant de différents ESS, et des sources extérieures d'interférences. Lors de la phase d'annonce, le AP transmet son signal de balisage à une puissance maximale, de sorte à accélérer la reconnaissance effectuée par des AP avoisinants en cours de phase de découverte. Le procédé de cette sélection de canal de lancement automatique d'un AP balaye les canaux que le AP utilise pour communiquer. Des informations concernant chaque canal balayé sont enregistrées, et le canal présentant la meilleure performance est déterminé pour être utilisé par le AP.
