A wireless communication system according to the invention is to perform communication with a terminal station at a radio frequency higher than a millimeter waveband. The wireless communication system includes, as transmission devices to the terminal station, a center station device which forms a baseband signal to the terminal station and a plurality of access point devices which receive delivered signals from the center station device and emit radio waves to the terminal station. Cover areas of the access point devices partially overlap to constitute a service area to the terminal station by all the cover areas. In this manner, a frequency higher than a millimeter wave band is applied to wireless communication to the terminal station to make it possible to widen the service area. When each of the access point devices has a configuration which simultaneously sends a transmission signal main body and a local oscillation signal of a radio frequency and the terminal station has a configuration which perform asquare-law detection to a synthesized signal of the received transmission signal main body and the local oscillation signal, the terminal station can obtain a demodulated signal which is free from a frequency offset and a phase fluctuation of the local oscillation signal and which is reduced in doppler frequency.

Cette invention se rapporte à un système de radiocommunication, qui est destiné à assurer la communication avec une station terminale à une fréquence radio d'une bande d'onde millimétrique ou davantage et qui comprend à cet effet, comme dispositif du côté de transmission à la station terminale, une station centrale qui génère un signal de bande de base dirigé vers la station terminale et des dispositifs de point d'accès qui envoient une onde radio dirigée vers la station terminale, lors de la réception d'un signal distribué provenant de la station centrale. Les zones de couverture de chaque dispositif de point d'accès se chevauchent partiellement pour constituer des zones de services dirigées vers la station terminale sur toute les zones de couverture. Ainsi, même en appliquant une fréquence d'une bande millimétrique, on agrandit une ou plusieurs zones de services pour la communication radio dirigée vers la station terminale. Si chaque dispositif de point d'accès est conçu pour fournir simultanément le corps principal d'un signal de transmission et un signal d'oscillation local d'une fréquence radio et si la station terminale est conçue pour détecter selon la loi de Lambert un signal de synthèse du corps principal du signal de transmission reçu et du signal d'oscillation local, la station terminale obtient un signal de démodulation exempt de décalage de fréquence ou de fluctuation de phase du signal d'oscillation local, avec réduction de la fréquence Doppler.
