A method and system for rendering screen capture images from a wireless handheld device such as a personal digital assistant (PDA), pager, cellular phone, laptop computer or internet appliance to a destination device such as a facsimile machine, internet-connected printing machine or electronic file storage medium. The software on a wireless handheld device gathers the screen-capture information locally when requested to do so by the device operator and transmits it, with routing information, via a communication network to a wireless server that formats and routes it to the specified destination device.
