To provide an improved wireless information processing apparatus that is connectable to an appropriate one of the access points prepared by an internet provider even under a mobile environment. When a user of this terminal requests connection to the Internet, this terminal extracts a CS-ID from notification information transmitted from a wireless base station and, then, retrieves its own association table to acquire a telephone number of an access point nearest to the current location. Then, this terminal dials-up to the acquired access point to establish an internet connection. As a result, this terminal is allowed to download an electronic mail destined therefor, a Web page (HTML file or the like) stored in a disk of a given Web server and the like. Alternatively, this terminal is allowed to transmit data contained therein (or a file and/or an electronic mail edited on this terminal) to another computer system connected to the Internet, or to upload such data to a disk of a given Web server.
Dispositif de traitement d'information sans fil amélioré, connectable à un des points d'accès prévus par un fournisseur Internet même dans un environnement mobile. Lorsqu'un utilisateur de ce terminal demande à être connecté à l'Internet, ce terminal extrait une CS-ID (identification de station de base) des données de notification transmises à partir d'une station de base sans fil, puis récupère sa propre table d'association afin d'acquérir le numéro téléphonique du point d'accès le plus près de son emplacement. Ensuite, ledit terminal communique avec le point d'accès acquis afin d'établir une connexion Internet. Il lui est ainsi possible de télécharger un message de courrier électronique qui lui est destiné, une page Web (fichier HTML, p. ex.) stockée sur le disque d'un serveur Web donné et ainsi de suite. Ou encore, il lui est possible de transmettre des données qui y sont stockées (ou un fichier et/ou un message de courrier électronique qui y est édité) à un autre système informatique branché sur l'Internet, ou de télécharger ces données sur le disque d'un serveur Web donné.
