-2- ABSTRACT A wireless hand-held timer that measures the time interval between the sparks of a high-voltage spark source while held close to, but without being in contact with that source. The electromagnetic rf pulse associated with the sparks is picked up by a small antenna, amplified by a high-impedance amplifier, and used to trigger a one-shot multivibrator. The output of the multivibrator is then used to control the gating circuitry of the timer.
