There is disclosed a prepaid system (10) and method for permitting a prepaid subscriber of the cellular wireless telecommunication system to revise call features during a call within the operators node and from roaming locations to debit the subscribers prepaid account on a real-time basis. The system includes a switching node (14) permitting (50) a call to be set up with the prepaid subscriber (16) when a prepaid service credit balance exists and terminating the call when the prepaid service credit balance is nil. The switching node continually generates (52, 54) real-time call event Data Message Handier (DMH) formatted messages related to the call made by the prepaid subscriber and forwards these call event messages to a prepaid administrative network (38). The prepaid administrative network stores (56) the prepaid service credit balance of the prepaid subscriber and generates at call set up an initial charge debiting rate (60) used during the call to reduce the prepaid service credit balance. The prepaid administrative network, in response to the real-time call event messages received from the detailed call event generation means, revises the initial charge debiting rate to generate a real-time debiting rate used during the call to reduce the prepaid service credit balance.
L'invention concerne un système prépayé (10) et un procédé permettant à un utilisateur prépayé d'un système de radiotélécommunication cellulaire de réviser les caractéristiques d'appel pendant un appel dans le noeud opérateurs et à partir de localisations d'abonnés itinérants pour débiter le montant prépayé des abonnés sur une base temps réel. Le système comporte un noeud de commutation (14) permettant (50) qu'un appel soit établi avec un abonné prépayé (16) lorsqu'il existe un solde créditeur d'un service prépayé et de mettre un terme à l'appel lorsque le solde créditeur du service prépayé est nul. Le noeud de commutation génère continuellement (52, 54) des messages formatés Data Message Handier (DMH) événement appel temps réel concernant l'appel passé par l'abonné prépayé et retransmet ces messages d'événement appel à un réseau administratif prépayé (38). Le réseau administratif prépayé enregistre (56) le solde créditeur de service prépayé de l'abonné prépayé et génère lors de l'établissement de l'appel un taux de débit de charge initial (60) utilisé pendant l'appel pour réduire le solde créditeur de service prépayé. Le réseau administratif prépayé, en réponse aux messages événement appel réel reçus par le moyen de génération d'événement appel détaillé, révise le taux de charge initial pour générer un taux de débit temps réel utilisé pendant l'appel pour réduire le solde créditeur du service prépayé.
