The present invention relates to a wireless temperature monitoring system useful in reducing the risk of scalding to a user. The system includes a temperature sensor/transmitter (16) on the end of a faucet (12) which communicates via a wireless link to a controller (18). The wireless link is utilized to facilitate installation on a faucet (12). The invention may also provide a digital display (18) with audio and/or visual alarms to indicate if a pre-set maximum temperature has been exceeded and a shut-off valve (20) to interrupt flow of water to the faucet (12).
