On the transmitting terminal 11b side, on the occurrence a transmission event J11, the transmitting terminal 11b is brought into a receiving wait state R12 for a certain duration TW. While, on the receiving terminal 11a side, a transmission state T11 for a certain duration TT and a subsequent receiving state R11 for a certain duration TR are made intermittently repeated at intervals of a sleeping duration TS. The receiving terminal 11a, on transmitting an intermittent transmission signal S11, is immediately brought into the receiving state R11 to receive a transmission signal S12 transmitted from the transmitting terminal 11b. This reduces power consumption at transmission and reception with a duration occupied by a channel in a space in a transmitting operation being reduced and, along with this, enables a communication device to be brought into a communication state without synchronization.
