Abstract The wishbone boom attachment for sailboards, with a wishbone boom headpiece (1) of plastic, that is formed in one piece on a pipe arc (2) of aluminum or plastic used to attach the two boom sections (3) of a wishbone boom, has a casing (7) that accommodates the the pipe arc (2) and sleeve (6), connected to this by means of at least one bridge piece (8, 93, that can be slid onto the mast (5), a closing element (10) that is matched to the mast being hinged onto this sleeve (6). In addition, a quick-release lock (12) to close and open the closing element (10) for securing the headpiece (1) to the mast (5) or to release this from the mast (5) is also provided. Also incorporated are a closing piece (10) that is curved to match the mast (5), this being formed through a strip hinge (11), and a lever (12) that is hinged onto the sleeve (6) and used to tighten and loosen a rope (13) that is formed into a loop, one end of said rope being attached to the lever (12) and the other end of said rope being secured in the area of the strip hinge (11) on the sleeve (6). The loop of the rope (13) is can be tightened so as to secure the wishbone boom headpiece (1) on the mast (1) by means of the lever (12), through an extension (20) that is opposite the closing edge of the closing piece (10) on the sleeve (6) and guides on the outer side of the closing piece (10).
