WITHIN LINE COLOR CHANGE PRINTING Abstract of the Disclosure In the printer disclosed herein, shifting of a multi- color ribbon carried on a movable carriage is effected by a pair of solenoids which are selectively energized or de-energized in various combinations. A mechanical conversion means, such as a linkage, converts the pair of input motions to a four-position output motion. This output motion is coupled to means for posi- tioning the ribbon so that four different colors are provided. -1-
