ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A wood chipping tool has a chipping blade mounted on a tool body and a double-armed lever retaining the blade, at least in the radial direction, solely by friction A piston acts on a first arm of the lever for urging the second arm of the lever into a blade-retaining position. The lever is pivotally connected to the tool body by a spring member allowing pivot- tation of the lever about an axis parallel to the axis of rota- tion of the tool body, the spring member having one end con- nected to the lever and an opposite end connected to the tool body. This avoids contamination of the lever pivo?; reduces manufacturing costs and reduces inertial and centrifugal forces.
