ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed herein is a wood preservative composi- tion comprising the following ingredients (A) and (B): (A) at least one alkyl ammonium compound, (B) at least one polyacid salt selected from the group consisting of condensed homopolyacid salts, condensed heteropolyacid salts, polycarboxylic acid salts and poly- phosphonic acid salts. The (B) ingredients improve the anchoring property of the alkyl ammonium compound (A) which is the active ingredient of a wood preservative, whereby there is obtained a wood preservative with long-lasting preservation effect under the conditions of underground burial or under water installation.
