WOOD TREATMENT PROCESS ABSTRACT The surface of an impregnated wood material having deposits of a water-insoluble treating chemical thereon as a result of the impregnation treatment, is cleaned by forming an ammoniacal liquor in situ on the surface of the wood material, dissolving the surface deposit in the ammoniacal liquor and permitting the dissolved treating chemical to migrate into the wood.
