ABSTRACT In a method for producing wood units it is started from at least one elongated wood piece in the longitudinal direction of which two cuts are made substantially perpendicularly to each other, so that said cuts intersect each other in the centre of the starting wood piece cross section so as to divide the starting wood piece into four elongated wood pieces. The four elongated wood pieces obtained in this way are bonded to each other at the ends of the surfaces formed by said cuts located opposite to the right-angled corner of each piece as seen in cross section and so that the right-angled corners of adjacent elongated pieces are directed perpendicularly to each other, so that the right-angled corners of the elongated wood pieces each form one of the four corners of a wood unit with a rectangular cross section and a longitudinal inner hollow space.
