The conventional method of producing wooden rosettes involves the lowering of a cutting tool against a square blank clamped on a worktable. The method is time consuming and labour intensive and, because the cutting tool is moved vertically against the workpiece, tool misalignment can occur. A simple machine for facilitating the production of rosettes which are consistent in terms of shape includes a frame with a worktable mounted for vertical movement thereon, a clamp system for releasably clamping a blank on the worktable, a rotary cutter head mounted on the frame above the worktable, and a piston/cylinder for moving the worktable vertically, whereby the blank can be moved against the rotating cutter head mounted on the frame above the worktable, and a piston/cylinder for moving the worktable vertically, whereby the blank can be moved against the rotating cutter head to form a rosette, and an ejector air cylinder for ejecting a completed rosette.
