A relatively simple word game includes a game board with a row of squares around the periphery thereof for receiving game pieces, most of the squares containing indicia in the form of a coloured triangle with a single digit number chosen from "1' to "5" therein, the colours and numbers being indicative of a specific category or subject matter, some of the squares containing the word "OPTION" permitting a player to chose a category or the word "CHALLENGE" permitting all players to attempt to solve a word puzzle simultaneously, a die to determine the advance of the game pieces, a simple hourglass-type timer, a first deck of cards containing the same five indicia as the squares and scrambled letters of words on one surface thereof, and the indicia and the correct or unscrambled words on the other surface thereof, and a second deck of "CHALLENGE" cards with one scrambled word(s) and a category on one surface, and the unscrambled word(s) on the other surface thereof.
