The invention is concerned with a work allocation system having a plurality of agents that bid for work in accordance with preferences and behaviour of resources corresponding thereto. Each agent represents a group of resources and is arranged to evaluate the likelihood that at least one resource in the group can carry out a work item. The evaluation is dependent on work items previously selected and/or carried out by resource, so that the agent effectively models the preferences of its workers. The agent can use this preference information to decide a bidding strategy (i.e. to decide which work items it can bid for), and, having successfully bid for a work item, can allocate work based on individual characteristics and observed work preferences. The bidding for work between agents is, for example, conducted in accordance with contract net based negociation.
L'invention concerne un système de répartition des tâches comportant plusieurs agents qui font une offre de travail selon les préférences et le comportement de ressources correspondantes. Chaque agent représente un groupe de ressources et est conçu pour évaluer la probabilité selon laquelle au moins une ressource du groupe peut exécuter une tâche. L'évaluation dépend des tâches précédemment sélectionnées et/ou accomplies par la ressource, de telle manière que l'agent modèle efficacement les préférences de ses employés. L'agent peut utiliser cette information de préférence pour décider d'une stratégie d'offre (notamment des tâches pour lesquelles il peut faire une offre), et, ayant réussi à faire une offre pour une tâche, il peut affecter la tâche sur la base de caractéristiques <i>individuelles</i> et de préférences de tâches observées.
