Abstract of the Disclosure WORK HOLDER FOR SEWING MACHINES The clamp foot of a programmable, industrial sewing machine is made to hold a workpiece in which a pattern of stitches is to be formed according to a recorded program. The needle of such machines operates in a fixed location and the clamp foot moves the workpiece around on the sewing surface of the machine according to the stitching program to create the desired pattern. Different configurations or sizes of workpieces require different clamp feet, and it is essential that they be changed quickly. It is also essential that each configuration of clamp foot have a predetermined location relative to the support means to which it is attached. This invention includes a first attachment structure on the clamp foot and an interconnectable attachment structure on the support to allow the first attachment structure to engage the second one firmly but releasably to allow a sewing machine operator to change from one clamp foot to another without having to use tools or to call a mechanic for assistance.
