The invention relates to a workshop for preparing aircraft engines for shipping, including a station (10) for mounting testing and measuring means on an engine, means (14) for transporting the engine to a test facility (16) and for returning the engine to the workshop, a station (18) for removing the testing and measuring means, a station (20) for performing endoscopy checks, a finishing station (22), and a shipping station (24). According to the invention, the engines are conveyed from one post to another by means of spreaders secured to the engines and attached to hoists that can be moved in translation on an upper frame positioned above the workshop, each station including computer terminals for displaying and monitoring the tasks to be performed on the engine at the corresponding station.
