The invention provides wound dressings, in particular wound dressings of low- or non-exuding wounds or bleeding wounds. The wound dressings are of the island type, having an adhesive-coated backing sheet (6) and an absorbent island (9) supported on the backing sheet. The island (9) comprises a layer (2) of liquid absorbent material enclosed in an envelope of textured perforated thermoplastic film. The film (3) on one side of the island (9) presents a ribbed or embossed perforated surface having low adherency to the wound. The film (7) on the rear surface of the envelope is perforated and smoothed to provide good attachment to the backing sheet (6) and controlled water vapor transmission rate. The invention also provides a method of manufacture of the wound dressings according to the invention, according to which the absorbent layer (2) is wrapped in a textured perforated thermoplastic film, and the film on the rear face of the envelope is then preferably smoothed by blowing hot air onto it.

L'invention se rapporte à des pansements, notamment des pansements destinés à des plaies avec saignement ou suintement faible ou nul. Ces pansements du type pansements à îlot, comportent une feuille de support recouverte d'un adhésif (6) et un îlot absorbant (9) supporté par la feuille de support. Ledit îlot (9) comprend une couche (2) d'une matière absorbant les liquides, enfermée dans une enveloppe composée d'un film thermoplastique perforé et texturé. Le film (3) disposé sur un côté de l'îlot (9) présente une surface perforée, rainurée ou en relief, qui adhère faiblement à la plaie. Le film (7) sur la face arrière de l'enveloppe est perforé et lissé de manière à permettre une bonne fixation à la feuille de support (6) ainsi que l'obtention d'un taux régulé de transmission de la vapeur d'eau. L'invention se rapporte également à un procédé de fabrication de ces pansements, selon lequel la couche absorbante (2) est enveloppée dans un film thermoplastique, perforé et texturé, et selon lequel le film sur la face arrière de l'enveloppe est ensuite de préférence lissé par soufflage d'air chaud.
