A wraparound style carton is provided with a top gripping handle structure formed from the top wall of the carton. The top gripping handle structure provides handle tab surfaces that can be gripped between the opposed thumb and middle finger of a user's hand. These surfaces are formed along opposing edges of the top wall of the carton, and are spaced apart by a distance that is less than the width of the top wall, thereby enabling use by users with smaller hands, and reducing the strain on the hand caused by stretching to span the top wall.
