ABSTRACT A wrapping machine for wrapping n roll is disclosed. The wrapping machine includes a conveyor for receiving the roll to be wrapped. Support rollers space the roll relative to the conveyor and n drive roller rotates the roll. An upper hold-down assembly supports the upper portion of the roll. A reciprocating carriage is mounted adjacent the conveyor. The carriage delivers wrapping materials which are placed in layers on the roll as it rotates.
