A wringer for a flat mop mounted on a mop carrier includes a main body provided with a pair of spaced-apart parallel and rotatably supported wringer rollers which can be spread apart in substantially parallel orientation against an elastic resetting force provided by the main body which is made of an elastically deformable material. The wringer is preferably provided with an ejector arrangement for facilitating removal of an inserted mop carrier from the wringer, which ejector arrangement is operated by lateral ejector springs. The wringer requires very little maintenance and is more economically manufactured.
