A writable-once optical recording medium such as a BD-WO, and a method and apparatus for managing the writable-once optical recording medium, are provided. The recording medium includes at least one recording layer having at least one temporary defect management area and at least one final defect management area. The method includes recording temporary defect management information in the temporary defect management area of the recording medium, the temporary defect management information including disc usage management information indicating a recording use status of the recording medium; and transferring, at a transfer stage, the temporary defect management information from the temporary defect management area to the final defect management area of the recording medium.

L'invention concerne un support optique inscriptible une seule fois tel qu'un disque Blu-Ray inscriptible une seule fois (BD-WO), et un procédé et un appareil permettant de traiter ledit support. Le support d'enregistrement comprend au moins une couche d'enregistrement comportant au moins une zone de traitement temporaire de défauts, et au moins une zone de traitement final de défauts. Le procédé comporte les étapes consistant à : enregistrer des données de traitement temporaire de défauts dans la zone de traitement temporaire de défauts du support d'enregistrement, ces données incluant des données d'utilisation de disque qui indiquent l'état d'utilisation en matière d'enregistrement du support d'enregistrement ; et transférer, à une étape de transfert, les données de traitement temporaire de défauts, de la zone de traitement temporaire de défauts vers la zone de traitement final de défauts du support d'enregistrement.
