The invention relates to a writing instrument including an ink chamber (1), a writing tip (3) and a device for venting the chamber (5). The venting device comprises separate grains (52) which are housed in a cavity in the instrument (50). The aforementioned grains are provided with sharp edges and corners in order to improve absorption of an ink leak.
