A writing or drawing instrument (1) comprising a removable cap (2) for receiving the writing or drawing nib end (3) of the instrument. The cap (2) is provided with a fastening clip (7) joined to the cap by a joining member (8) adjacent the open end (5) thereof while its free end (9) is located adjacent the closed end (6) of said cap. The joining member (8) of the fastening clip (7) is located in the half (L') of the length (L) of the instrument/cap assembly (1-2) which includes the inoperative end portion (4) thereof.
