ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A wrought aluminum alloy composed on a weight basis of 0.8 to 2.2% manganese, 0.1 to 0.5% zirconium, 0.2 to 1.0% iron, 0.2 to 0.6% silicon, 0 to 0.5% copper, 0 to 0.1% magnesium, balance aluminum and impurities which are due to the manufacture, and which has been cast and subjected after casting to a temperature of 450° to 500°C for 5 to 10 hours. This alloy has a high deformability and resistance to corrosion. It begins to recrystallize at a much higher temperature than the known wrought aluminum alloys and it can be coated with vitreous enamel without need for a separate pretreatment.
