ABSTRACT In institutes for X-ray examination only one type of intensifying screen is generally used although various types of intensifying screens are at their disposal, which are specially attuned to the requirements of specific methods of examination. The reason for this might be that the automatic timer with the prior art X-ray examining devices only permitted the use of one intensifying screen. The invention enables the use of different types of intensifying screens without demanding more attention from the radiologist.
