An x-ray generating device includes a field emission cathode formed at least partially from a nanostructure (1110) containing material having an emitted electron current density of at least 4 A/cm2. High energy conversion efficiency and compact design (1100) are achieved due to easy focusing of cold cathode emitted electron between the cathode (1110) and the gate or anode (1130) and focusing the electron beams at different anode materials (1130), pulsed x-ray radiation with varying energy can be generated from a single device.

Un dispositif de génération de rayons X comprend une cathode à émission par effet de champ constituée au moins partiellement d'une matière contenant une nanostructure (1110) dotée d'une densité de courant électronique émis d'au moins 4 A/cm?2¿. On obtient un modèle compact (1100) et une efficacité de conversion d'énergie élevée en raison de la focalisation facile des électrons émis de la cathode froide entre la cathode (1110) et la grille ou l'anode (1130). La focalisation des faisceaux d'électrons au niveau de diverses matières d'anodes (1130) permet d'engendrer, à partir d'un seul dispositif, un rayonnement de rayons X pulsés avec une variation d'énergie.
