The present invention relates to novel xanthine compounds of the general formula (I) wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 are as defined, having a positive allosteric GABA Breceptor (GBR) modulator effect, methods for the preparation of said compounds and to their use, optionally in combination with a GABA Bagonist, for the inhibition of transient lower esophageal sphincter relaxations, for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, as well as for the treatment of functional gastrointestinal disorders and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
La présente invention porte sur de nouveaux composés de xanthine de la formule générale (I) dans laquelle R1, R2, R3 et R4 sont tels que définis, ayant un effet modulateur allostérique positif du récepteur GABA B (GBR), sur des procédés de préparation desdits composés et sur leur utilisation, facultativement en combinaison avec un agoniste GABA B, pour l'inhibition de relaxations transitoires du sphincter oesophagien inférieur, pour le traitement de la maladie de reflux gastro-oesophagien ainsi que pour le traitement de troubles gastro-intestinaux fonctionnels et le syndrome de l'intestin irritable (IBS).
