XEROGRAPHIC APPARATUS HAVING TIME controlled fusing ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Xerographic apparatus for reproducing information on selected one of periodically presented documents includes: means for providing print signals time associated with the selected documents; a paper web; toner; and means for pro- viding toner images, corresponding to information on selected documents, on successive sections of the web. The web passes through a fuser assembly whose temperature is sensed and controlled. Control is accomplished with: (1) means re- sponsive to said print signals, for turning the fuser on for periods of time related to intervals of time occurring between successive print signals, each of said periods of time occurring during an interval immediately prior to the presentation of a toner image, related to the first of suc- cessive signals, to the fuser; (2) means for turning the fuser on upon presentation of a toner image to the fuser; and (3) means responsive to the temperature in the fuser for inhibiting means (1) and (2) to turn the fuser off after specific time periods.
