Abstract In the usual case of launching model rockets for enjoyment. a stationary, ground-based launch pad is usually employed to fire the rocket in a vertical trajectory, with the person launching the rocket standing several metres away for safety purposes. This model provides no means for accurately controlling the trajectory of the model rocket. In this invention, the model rocket launcher is designed to be held on the shoulder of the individual firing the rocket such that the trajectory of the rocket may be aimed. To maintain the safety of the individual launching the model rocket. an industrial strength heavy plastic tube is used to shroud the launch guide wire, preventing the engine exhaust of the rocket from coming in contact with the individual. As well. The ignition switch is built into the rear handle of the model rocket launcher employing a two-stage firing sequence for maximum safety. A shield placed at the front of the model rocket launcher provides added safety to the user as well as a mechanism for aiming the model rocket before firing.
