F-0881 -26- ABSTRACT A process is provided wherein extracted xylenes are isomerized at temperatures of from 550°-800°F with low xylene lossin the presence of ethylbenzene, and with conversion of the ethylbenzene to products of different molecular weight. The catalyst comprises a crystalline zeolite and a hydrogenation component, preferably platinum, the catalyst being steamed to control its acidity within a prescribed range.
