-14- ABSTRACT "Improvements in and relating to Yankee Dryers" To reduce uneven drying profiles across the surface of a Yankee drying cylinder, the invention seeks to prevent distortion of the dipper-carrying, condensate removal header tubes within such a cylinder. This is done by providing a plurality of short header tubes staggered across the width of the machine, so that each header tube only carries a fraction of the total number of dipper pipes or straws at each condensate collection region.
