For supplying yarns, a yarn supply apparatus is contemplated that is designed particularly for knitting machines whose yarn demand fluctuates greatly over time. The yarn supply apparatus has a rotor-driven yarn wheel, which in the ideal case furnishes yarn directly to the knitting machine or its yarn guides without the interposition of yarn storage devices. The yarn tension is monitored by means of a yarn tension sensor, which provides measured value detection for a closed-loop controller that controls the supply by the yarn wheel. The controller is also embodied such that it can process signals that contain information about the future yarn demand. Thus in the event of imminent drastic changes in demand, of the kind that in flatbed knitting machines periodically occur at the edges of the knitted goods (turning points of the yarn guide), the controller can react by presupplying yarn or by ceasing to supply yarn. Yarn tension spikes and overly steep yarn tension drops can thus be compensated for. The controller may be designed such that it functions as a closed-loop status controller and intermittently as an open-loop controller. Other provisions, such as disturbance variable compensation, parameter adaptation, or the like, are possible.
L'invention a pour objet un dispositif d'alimentation (1) de fils, notamment de fils durs, conçu spécialement pour des métiers à tricoter (2) dont les besoins en fil varient fortement en fonction du temps. Le dispositif d'alimentation (1) du fil présente une roue à fil (13) entraînée par un moteur qui, de façon idéale, alimente directement le métier à tricoter (2) ou son guide-fil (7), sans intervention de moyens de stockage du fil. La tension du fil est contrôlée au moyen d'un détecteur de tension (22) détectant la valeur de mesure pour un régulateur (15, 16) commandant l'alimentation par la roue à fil (13). Le régulateur (15, 16) est en outre conçu de telle façon qu'il soit en mesure de traiter des signaux contenant des informations sur les besoins futurs en fil. Le régulateur (15, 16) peut ainsi réagir préalablement à de fortes variations imminentes des besoins de fils, telles qu'elles se présentent, par exemple périodiquement dans des métiers à tricoter rectiligne (2), en bordure du tricot (points de retournement du guide-fil) en fournissant du fil en avance ou en stoppant l'alimentation du fil. Il est ainsi possible d'uniformiser des pics de tension de fil et des chutes de tension de fil trop brutales. Le régulateur (15, 16) peut être conçu de manière à fonctionner comme régulateur de régime et, temporairement, comme système de contrôle. Il est également possible de prévoir d'autres dispositions, telles la compensation de perturbations, l'adaptation de paramètres ou analogue.
